The Plan provides a lump sum benefit payable directly to volunteer fire
fighters who are diagnosed with one of the preceding major illnesses or injuries. You
will collect the lump sum benefit if you survive for 30 days after a covered
condition has been diagnosed or a defined event has taken place. It would provide
a Lump Sum Tax-Free Payment to Be Used In Any Way A Member wishes. This
